About

Assistant Clinical Director Whitney Balmert graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida Burnett Honors College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Service Administration. She also graduated with minors in both Business and Biology. In 2010, Professor Balmert earned a Master of Medical Science degree in Physician Assistant studies at Nova Southeastern University. For the past 8 years she has been practicing as a physician assistant (PA) in the field of pediatrics. She has worked in outpatient, inpatient and urgent care settings of pediatrics. In addition to acquiring clinical experience in these settings, she also developed administrative skills and served on an advisory board for an electronic medical records (EMR) company; assisting with healthcare provider-friendly development and training. In practice, she has served as the lead training provider and has also served as a preceptor to both medical and PA students from many universities. In addition to her clinical experience, she served as adjunct faculty at both Adventist University of Health Sciences (ADU) and Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Physician Assistant Programs. In 2018 Professor Balmert has joined the faculty full time at ADU. While continuing to practice pediatrics clinically, her primary responsibilities at ADU will be to teach and support the didactic year PA students as Assistant Professor under the direction of the Academic Director and the Program Director. In addition, she will serve as Assistant Clinical Director to provide support for the PA students through their clinical year of training.
