Biography

Professor Moghimi has had a 40-year clinical/management career in occupational therapy. She has worked in and managed rehabilitation personnel in a variety of clinical settings including mental health, pediatrics, geriatrics, acute care, acute rehab, outpatient, low vision and home health, both in Maryland and Florida. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, a masters in Administrative Science from Johns Hopkins University and a ScD in Occupational Science from Towson University. She served on the Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy Practice as vice-chairperson and chairperson for 8 years. She is currently an ACOTE surveyor and a member of the AOTA Disciplinary Board. She had taught adjunct and part-time in occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant programs for 7 years. She has been a full-time faculty member for 8 years. Here at AdventHealth University her current role is Department Chair for the OT Department, teaching Masters’ courses of Foundations, Health and Wellness, Mental Health, Community Practice, and Leadership, as well as overseeing HBS student interns in AdventHealth Community Care Program. Her research interests include caregiving, mental health, and OT leadership.
