About

Dr. Clayton is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing at Adventist University of Health Sciences. She earned her PhD in Nursing at Barry University and her MSN in Education from the University of Phoenix. Currently, she teaches the Introduction to Professional Nursing and Adult Health III courses and coordinates the Adult Health III clinical rotation. Dr. Clayton has over 20 years of nursing experience in Neuroscience and Critical Care. She also worked as an Educator for the Neuroscience service line and Graduate Nurse Program Manager at Florida Hospital. Dr. Clayton is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, National League for Nurses, and the American Board of Neuroscience Nurses. For the past 3 years, Dr. Clayton has served in the role of Counselor for Sigma Theta Tau with the Chi Upsilon chapter. Publications include an article in the Journal of Christian Nursing and author of a chapter in the Core Curriculum for Preceptor Advancement.
