Dr. Hughes has worked at Adventist University since 2002 serving as the program director for the occupational therapy assistant and the occupational therapy programs. Her clinical experience took place in settings such as acute care hospitals, outpatient clinics, inpatient rehab hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and public schools. Her interests include adult physical rehabilitation, disabled driving, and vision therapy. Dr. Hughes currently teaches Applied Kinesiology, Evidence Based Practice, Assessment and Treatment of Adults, and Professional Seminar. She is a member of the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education and has been published by local and state organizations as well as chapters in educational textbooks. Dr. Hughes believes that occupational therapy is one of the most promising careers for individuals who are interested in the art and science of healthcare.
