Pilar Erstling has been full-time faculty since 2015, but she started as an adjunct clinical instructor in 2013. She has 25 years of experience in obstetrics; she worked in Labor and Delivery at Florida Hospital Orlando for 10 years prior to joining the ADU family. She received her BSN from Florida State University and her MSN in Nurse Midwifery from the University of Florida. Her primary course is Nursing of the Childbearing Family. But she occasionally teaches Pharmacology and serves as clinical faculty for other courses, such as Health Promotion and Health Assessment. She also coordinates Practicum for the senior nursing students. Additionally, she serves as Faculty Consultant for the ADU chapter of NSNA and mentors students as they develop their leadership skills. She has coordinated the University Flu Vaccine event and served as the nursing team leader for the Spring picnic for the past two years. She believes in mentoring her students to be the best, well-rounded nurses that will take good care of her someday.
