Madeline Sawin MSN, RN, CNE is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing at Adventist University of Health Sciences. Professor Sawin holds a Master in Nursing Education degree from the University of Central Florida and is recognized by the National League of Nurses as a Certified Nurse Educator. Professor Sawin has been practicing the art of nursing for over forty years after graduating from the University of Puerto Rico with a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing in 1978. Her clinical career includes certification in Critical Care, Quality Assurance, Education and Management in long term care and home care. Professor Sawin coordinates the Pathophysiology course and participates in Community Nursing and Adult Health courses in the nursing program. Professor Sawin’s current interest lies in using simulation training to enhance students’ proficiency in bedside care and is Chair of the Nursing Simulation Committee.
