Dr. Nelson can be found at the ADU-Denver Site where she wears many hats as the Vice Chair of the Nursing Program. She is a native of Colorado and completed her BSN at the University of Colorado, MSN at UNLV, Las Vegas and Doctorate at UNC in Greeley, CO where she was born. "Guess I've come full circle!" she remarks as she assists with greeting those thinking about coming to the nursing program and advising prenursing students working towards entrance to the program. Clinical practice in PACU and OR, as well as administrative management of staff development and in higher education have prepared her to teach in areas of nursing education, research/evidence based practice, bioethics, and leadership and management. Her duties also include working with faculty and outside agencies to insure the successful delivery of curriculum and quality clinical experiences. Barbara enjoys working with students, faculty and the community to bring healthcare as ministry to the ADU nursing program in the Denver Metro area.
