Biography

Dr. Carolyn Ramsey is an Associate Professor in the Nursing Department at Adventist University of Health Sciences. She earned her PhD in Nursing at Hampton University, a MSN in Nursing Administration, and a certificate as an Adult Nurse Practitioner both from Andrews University. Her areas of interest are in health disparities and knowledge of end-of-life in African American families. Currently, she teaches Introduction to Health Assessment and Adult Health III in the nursing program. Dr. Ramsey has many years of nurse practice in the areas of pediatrics and adult critical care. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, National League for Nurses, and the Association of Black Nursing Faculty. Her research focus has been on planning end-of-life and having an advance directive.
