This course focuses on the application of the nursing process in the provision of primary and secondary prevention and strengthening the child and family lines of defense and resistance to environmental stressors. The student will provide care of the child and family experiencing stressors affecting the physiological, psychosocial, sociocultural, developmental, and spiritual variables. The course includes two credit hours of theory (30 clock-hours), one credit hour of clinical (45 clock-hours), and is taught over the entire trimester. This course meets the requirement for an oral communication course(see the Academic Bulletin for complete criteria).
