This course focuses on the application of the nursing process in the provision of primary and secondary prevention and strengthening the child/family lines of defense and resistance to environmental stressors. The student will provide care for the patient/client experiencing stressors affecting physiological, psychological, sociocultural, developmental, and spiritual variables. The student will provide care within the acute care environment. This course includes 2.2 credit hours of theory (33 clock-hours) and 0.8 credit hours of clinical (36 clock-hours). The course meets the requirement for an oral communication course (see Communication Requirements in the Academic Section of the Academic Bulletin).
