This course focuses on the application of the nursing process in the provision of primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention and strengthening the adult patient/client lines of defense and resistance to environmental stressors. The student will provide care for the patient/client experiencing selected chronic stressors affecting the physiological, psychological, sociocultural, developmental, and spiritual variables. The student will provide care within the acute care and long-term care environment. This course includes 2.5 credit hours of theory (37 clock-hours) and 1.5 credit hours of clinical (67 clock-hours).
