This course will provide students with a basic understanding of the impact of environmental factors, the health of people, and the community. Topics will include the reaction of the body to environmental pollutants, physical, chemical, and biological agents of environmental contamination, vectors for dissemination, solid and hazardous waste, susceptible populations, biomarkers and risk analysis, the scientific basis for policy decisions, and emerging global environmental health problems.
Must be accepted to either the BS in Health Sciences or the BS in Biomedical Sciences program. All prerequisites must be completed with a minimum grade of C (2.00).
