DNRS345 Information

Theoretical Foundation of Practice

Based on the CREATION Health acronym, students explore selected nursing philosophies, conceptual models, and theories guiding autonomous practice. The process by which theory is translated into evidence-based practice is studied. Students have opportunities to expand on their exploration of the link between theory, research, and evidence-based practice with an emphasis on theory-based approaches to quality client outcomes. This course includes three credit hours of theory (45 clock hours) and meets the requirements for a written communication course (see Communication Requirements in the Academic Section of the Academic Catalog).

All prerequisite(s) must be completed with a minimum grade of C (2.00).
